Up until now your iBooking Ticket account has been referenced by using a link on the iBooking.com domain. For example, the link https://ticketapp2.ibooking.com/V45/book.asp?id_prov=3099 opens one of our demonstration accounts.
Our aim is to always give you a customised booking engine that matches your brand and integrates as seamlesly as possible into your web site. With sub-domain forwarding you can create a new address just for your booking engine. Typically this might be booking.YOURDOMAIN.com. Here's an example of a sub-domain in action on another demo account - https://demo.boatsandbuses.com
How to Create a Sub-Domain
Using a sub-domain for your booking engine is a straightforward process. We're here to help. The first step is to decide on the sub-domain you wish to use. For example, book. or bookings. etc. Now that you've made that decision you need to contact your domain name provider or web host. If you are confident managing your own domain you can also do this yourself. You can also pass the login to your domain name provider to iBooking using a support ticket and we can take care of it for you.
When you access your domain name record you want to add what's called an A record. It looks a bit like this;
Here we have highlighted an A record called new which exists on the ibooking.com domain. This is telling the domain server to point new.ibooking.com to the IP address 22.214.171.124.
The IP address you need for your A record is 126.96.36.199
Once your A record has been created just let us know. We will then make sure your new booking engine address is activated. We need to apply an SSL certificate for your domain to ensure that all data sent over your new address is secure. Once we have confirmed this step has been completed you can go ahead and update all links from your web site to your new address.
